The Avenue is safe as houses

by LYNNE McILROY

ALLEGATIONS that residents had moved into a luxurious development in Bridge of Allan before it was passed as safe by council building inspectors have been stamped out by the architect behind the project.

The Avenue development was completed earlier this year, with eager buyers snapping up the coveted properties. But an anonymous letter received by the Allanwater News claimed the flats had not been passed by building inspectors and were being occupied illegally with-

out a Certificate of Completion, which is part of the approval process. Bobby Halliday, of Crammond Select Homes quashed the claims however, saying receipt of the certificate had been delayed as a result of the issuing officer being on paternity leave. He said the building was inspected at the end of June before officers verbally passed it. Stirling council confirmed the development has been passed and said a certificate would be issued this week.
