Question: Do shorter people have more siblings?

Data Collection: I collected data from all of the students in my Block 3 Algebra class.
The data is shown on the table below.

Table:
Number of siblings 4 3 2 5 4 2 0 2 1 4 1 4 2 17 1 8 3 1 1 2 1 1 4 2 Height in inches 67 63 74.5 62 64 71 67 61 63 64 67 68 70 72 65 70.5 62 65 69 62 63 67 69 70

Graph:
Do shorter people have more siblings?
80 Height in inches 75 70 65 60 55 50 0 5 10 Number of siblings 15 20

Domain and Range: Domain is 0 x 17 , Range

is 61 y 74.5

Function:
The graph is not a function because it has more than one output for every input. For example, two siblings does not predict the height, people with two siblings could be anywhere from 61 inches to 74.5 inches.

Conclusion:
Based on my data and my graph I do not believe that I can conclude that shorter people have more siblings. The data is quite spread out, so I do not believe that there is a connection. For example, people from heights of 61 to 74.5 inches all had 2 siblings. Therefore, I dont believe there is a direct correlation.
