ENERGY SOURCE

advantages
1.Already here and working. 2. It supplies requested power, at any time.

drawbacks
1.price climbing up. 2.Factual Cartel keeping prices up. 3. Heavily taxed. 4. CO2 emissions. 5. Shortage

conventional electrical supply

petrol

mature technology

high taxes, shortage may happen sooner than expected, few sources running cartels, more expensive than fossil gas and H2 CO2 emissions, Importing it, if no FC CO2 emissions high 90% cost is drainage, but cannot disconnect drainage without disconnecting intake too

y/n (for CONEL) Y, because no alternative currently. Smart target would be to manage 15% reduction for instance 5 years after alternative power system installation N, CONEL no fuel storage, CO2 emission.
Y, Cheap alternative to Petrol

reason
CONEL has to comply with buildings energy efficiency, but staff and student comfort is a must.

Hospitals and some telephone exchange stations, and farms for instance have power back up. But it is not the case for CONEL. Expensive.

gas supply water supply

topping up current supply. vital supply, no alternative to CONEL

COMPULSORY Yes, if using water as FC propellant through clean electrolysis, such water used as fuel would not be removed through drainage so monitoring inlet and drainage, perhaps CONEL would manage to reduce water supplier bill (10% in,90% out). AVAILABLE ALTERNATIVES: for sake of space many obvious reasons otherwise the table would be 3 times longer. clean, no need for fuel bound to Sun and seasons, PV panels have Y, start ASAP no battery, grid plugged - LV roof to top floor PV panels
storage, no whirling parts

Solar Thermal Wind fossil fuel based cogeneration micro CHP Biofuel
no CO2, off shore is ok market inertia, available

Reformation Burning waste Nuclear Coal ADDITIONAL COUNTERMEASURES: centralized control, cheap, changing IT policies easy, straight saving reduce thermal demand reduce vampires improve insulation sure way to rating A improve materials

gas pipes supply no need for storage. If SOCF = clean energy Methanol is good source for FC with reformation included in SOFC uCHP already working no fuel shortage, no CO2 UK source, reliable

to be replaced, keep eye on meter to make sure feed back is reimbursed. needs maintenance, spare parts, needs commitment to do things right limited energy production, limited size heavily taxed, shortage, no fuel storage, no room for large cogeneration equipment, no large team maintenance available. SOFC not yet licensed in UK (energy trust)

Y, start ASAP N N, CONEL is a college not a generation plant

classrooms; win-win low risk investment. Publish feed back reading online along with standard log best option. again, solar does not cut off conventional supply but it helps reduce it, and it may help to produce clean H2. CONEL may have a portable diesel generation system, or even keep a small group just in case, but as far as I have been told, condition to this project is NO FOSSIL FUEL STORAGE at CONEL. there are microCHP like conventional boilers, burning gas or diesel/gasoline. microCHP SOCF is the one CONEL should pay attention to. BUT of ACADEMIC INTEREST start with natural reformation and end up on H2 incompatible with a learning centre no skills, no security, against urban regulations, no CONEL is not a combined cycle station, incompatible

Y conditional to SOFC technology N, CONEL does not have large ponds Y, it's the way out fossil fuels N N N Y Y Y don't know without IR check don't know

need pond, dedicated staff, needed storage and maintenance needs FC, gas, installation, will to improve it smells, it would make students complain highly skilled staff and expensive, security fossil, requires storage, skills, space, tools administrator rights required, bureaucracy, comfort level reduced, possible complaints, some students learning may slow down installation expensive, impractical or impossible
