I captured this image during my visit to my uncles house recently. I planned to use this sign board for my Visual Interpretation Assignment purpose. This image can be categorized under the combination of verbal and visual types in visual presentation. In this image message visualization becomes the main focus. Words are used to orient the viewer. Arrow also used to point out, signal direction and show movement of the way to the exact place. The main objective of this sign board is to show the correct way to the Chalet Terapong. Its designed simply and achieved its objective but the designs are not well orientate. This sign board will be very hard to view during the day time because of the ineffective usage of verbal and visual elements. First of all, the background color and the text color are nearest same. So, it makes hard to view the exact content of the sign board. The background must be contrast with the color of the text. The surprise element in this image is the arrow that shows to the left side. Its red color attracts the audiences attention and gives them awareness. The type, size and spacing of the text are not very reasonable. The choices of color scheme in this image must be changed so that its give more attraction and impact to the audience. The arrangement of the text is in good alignment but still can be adjustable. Here I can conclude that, this sign board in not very user friendly and will not give high impact to the audience.

The above sign board can be modified as below which is very simple and easy to read.
