Levent Karacelik

Levent Karaelik was born in Bartin, Turkey. After graduating from Istanbul Universitys Faculty of Law with a masters degree in Maritime Law, Levent worked in a private shipping company as assistant manager of the chartering department from 1972 until 1980. Founding the Marti Group in 1980, he later founder Marvel in 1998. Marvel have acted as ship managers since establishment and are currently operating a fleet of around 22 vessels between 5000 and 70000 DWT. Mr. Karaelik has accumulated over 36 years experience in shipping, chartering and ship owning and has represented the Turkish shipping community as the Turkish delegate in organisations such as BIMCO and FONASABA for many years. In addition he has served as Vice- President of BOD of the Chamber of Shipping for 8 years and Vice President of the Assembly of the Chamber of Shipping for 4 years, and the Turkish Ship-owners Association for 4 years _____________________________________________________________________
