Focused genre:

THE XX - COEXIST
The album artwork for The XX Coexist is very simple, this connotes their individual music style. The album artwork does not contain the band name, album title or any images of the artist. The plain imagery of the letter X is very different to that of a pop artist such as Rihanna where the album artwork is just an image of the artist themself.

THE MACCABEES COLOUR IT IN

The album artwork for The Maccabees COLOUR IT IN is artistic in style with the hand drawn images of people. Unlike the previous album artwork for The XX, The Maccabees include their name and an album title, but not an image of the band.

THE KILLERS HOT FUSS

The Killers album artwork portrays the image that they are an urban indie artist with the images of the built up skyscraper buildings. I have noticed that none of the indie bands we have looked at include an image of themselves in their album artwork. But do include the band name, and the title of the album.

THE VACCINES COME OF AGE

The Vaccines album artwork for their album Come of Age is different to the other indie artists we have looked at as they have an image of themselves on the cover of the album. Also a bold title of the band name, making them recognized as they are an individual band. Having the image of the artist on the album cover gives the audience an idea of the music style by being able to see their fashion style.
