Elaborations

Connecting work to past or future

Interpretation: The average score of declarative knowledge is 2.8, suggesting that improvements are required pupils do not have a strong ability to memorise, remember and use the information with which they work. They are best at demonstrating this in summary writing and I would want to know why eg. Have teachers emphasized this strategy recently? Where pupils are particularly poor is in their ability to identify gaps in their knowledge ie. They find it difficult to differentiate between what they know well and dont know. Mind mapping tasks in which they prepare notes may be useful in demarcating what they should know at this point in their curriculum. Pupils could rag rate this to show where they need to revise.

Procedural Knowledge

Understands how to respond to a test question

Understands how to read for a given task

Interpretation: The average score of procedural knowledge is 2, suggesting that improvements are required pupils do not a strong ability to know how to respond to questions or respond to different tasks. They are best at completing given reading tasks and I would want to know why eg. Have teachers emphasized this strategy recently? Where pupils are particularly poor is in their knowledge of how to respond to test questions. Working with practice questions might be a task that a teacher used to strengthen pupils skills.

Conditional Knowledge

Average

Interpretation: The average score of conditional knowledge is 2.5, suggesting that improvements are required pupils do not a strong ability to why or when to complete different actions. Pupils are best at understanding why to complete an action, for example knowing why they are doing group work. However, they are not as strong at when to complete actions, suggesting that they are slow to work or get going. Perhaps giving groups a stopwatch to time actions might encourage them to work quicker and more efficiently.
