What is Technology?

Why is it Important?
In many schools different types of technology have been made readily available for teachers to use as a resource. While much of this technology is used for information gathering purposes teachers may utilize it for other reasons as well. How useful the use of technology is to the students depends on how effectively the teacher incorporates it into the lesson. Technology makes accessing information quick and easy, what to do with that information is up to the students and the teacher.

Social Studies, Propaganda

In a classroom technology can be just about anything. The use of computers, video, music and many other types of electronic media are all sources of technology. How we make use of this technology varies from educator to educator, but for man it has become a vital classroom resource.

What To Consider:
What should the students gain through the use of the technology? Will all students have access to the required technology if it is a project that has to be done partly at home? If not can you devote class time for work time? Are there specific resources the students should use? If searching for information online do students know how to determine if a source is credible? What technology is being used and for what? How will the students use of the technology benefit them?
