Corporate Social Responsibility

'PROFIT IS NOT JUST A SET OF FIGURE BUT OF VALUES' -ROHINTON AGA (FOUNDER CHAIRMAN)

Thermax, as a part of its social obligation, is committed to: Provide quality education to the underprivileged children. Create an environment that respects the communities and the natural environment. Involve and encourage employees and their families to participate in the various social initiatives of the company.

EDUCATION FOR CHANGE

Thermax has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) School Board for a period of 30 years. TSIF, in partnership with the NGO Akanksha, today runs and manages two schools for children from low-income families where they are provided free, good quality education.

PARTNERSHIP WITH AKANKSHA

It supports two of Akankshas learning centres in Pune. In Thermaxs new corporate office in Pune, space has been allocated for an Akanksha office and its centres. Through non formal education underprivileged children are helped to grow up with self esteem and good values so that they are equipped to earn and improve the quality of their lives.

RURAL INITIATIVE

Thermax, in association with Gaurav Pratisthan (popularly known as Pani Panchayat) launched a project for watershed management in Pondhe village, 70 km from Pune. The project aims to help the villagers to manage their water resources in a sustainable and equitable way. Thermax also gifted cycles to the village children to help them attend school, five kilometers away.

EMPLOYEE INVOLVEMENT

They support Akanksha in its efforts to improve the lives of less privileged children. The Thermax team has been raising funds for Akanksha by regularly participating in the Mumbai Marathon. Thermax employees participate actively in the companys CSR activities. They contributed generously to gift cycles for school going children and several of them volunteer regularly to help and guide children at the schools run by Thermax Social Initiatives Foundation.
