860.434.1684 Join Todd Gipstein, author, photographer, producer and lecturer for over 40 years, 20 of them for the National Geographic Society, as he combines his reflections on a journey to the Falklands, South Georgia Island and Antarctica in January, 2011. You will surely not want to miss this beautifully photographed and fascinating discussion as to why he and his wife, Marcia, ventured to these areas, their preparations, experiences and reflections. Included in his lecture will be an over view on the epic journey of Sir Ernest Shackleton and how that influenced him, with a screening of a 10-minute documentary about Shackleton, "Endurance," which he created for the National Geographic Society. Todd will also be screening his 18 minute documentary film "Antarctic Dream". A question and answer period will follow this formal discussion.
