TENTATIVE ESTIMATE FOR PENDING WORK/QUALITY WORK IN ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION

DONE BY M/s. SIEMENS

INTRODUCTION

The following estimation based over the points, as introduced in the report submitted on 28.11.12. It tentatively covers the entire pending works, quality activities and loss of quality at several positions as in the submitted report. The whole estimation regards following two parameters---A. Estimate for Pending Works----to be completed B. Estimate for Quality Works----to be rectify All these activities associated with the below points, which always needs to keep in mind while estimation procedure because of its recurring nature----

Nature of Activity

Repairable activity

Irreparable activity

Visible Activity

Invisible Activity

For the simplicity of estimation the activities listed in the report are counted first; further we will follow the estimate for pending activities which is attached herewith this.

[A] ESTIMATE FOR TRAY ERECTION WORK

This estimation involves following points to accomplish this section----1. Laying suitable size cable tray, 2. Replacement of damaged cable trays by new one, 3. Maintaining continuity of tray throughout its run, 4. Removal of unnecessary cable tray, 5. Smoot bending of trays at the point of cable turn, 6. Bolting, splicing and welding of cable trays, 7. Matching/ aligning of cable trays, and 8. Finishing work of trays As per site observation and pending list attached here the above points considering all together can be summarized as under----SL.NO. PARTICULAR 1 2 3 4 Total Tray Erection Quality Tray Erection Work Repairable Balance Work Irreparable Balance Work % VALUE 100 76 9 15 Pending & Quality Pending & Quality REMARKS Assume

The above tentative values in the table are rounding to nearest integer point. Further, repairable balance work in above table includes cost of following requirements Requirement of sized material, Required tools and tackles, Use of machineries lick Hydra, Welding M/C, Required skilled and un-skilled manpower, Requirement of proper supervision, Use of necessary safety materials, As per pending list following positions are required to erected suitable size tray

[B] ESTIMATE FOR CABLE DRESSING WORK

This activity totally based on site observation and the corresponding estimation falls into two category---1. Repairable balance activity, and 2. Irreparable Balance activity which finally result into loss of quality. As per site observation and pending list the above activities can be measured as below SL.NO. PARTICULAR % VALUE REMARKS 1 2 3 4 Total Cable Dressing Quality Cable Dressed Repairable Cable Dressing Irreparable Cable Dressing 100 75 5 20 Assume Pending & Quality Pending & Quality

In the above table it is observed that the irreparable cable dressing measures four times than the repairable activity, which is due to ----a) Overloading of cables at several positions, b) Mixing of different types of cable all together, c) Final termination and glanding at load points, d) Longer cable run to the termination point,

[C] ESTIMATE FOR EARTHING WORK

The major balance activity need to perform under this section is almost repairable and only few come under loss of quality. Site surveillance shows that there are several points where rectification work is required. These points are summarized in the submitted report; although the need to attend all load points where there are earthing and its connections. In terms of percentage estimation of this section, the nether table will be more illustrative----SL.NO. PARTICULAR 1 2 3 4 Total Earthing Work Quality Earthing Work Repairable Earthing Work Loss of Earthing Work % VALUE 100 83 15 2 REMARKS Assume Pending & Quality Pending & Quality

The loss of earthing work is very minute which is for the performance of earth pits, required numbers of earth pits etc.

[D] ESTIMATE FOR SUPPORTING STRUCTURES

Same as above, this section has most of repairable points which need -- To erect suitable cable tray supporting structures, Painting work to erected supports, To rectify the previous supports wherever it get damaged, Grouting work for permanent cable supports, The estimate for supporting structure works in terms of percentage can be listed as below---SL.NO. PARTICULAR % VALUE REMARKS 1 2 3 4 Total Supporting Structure Quality Supporting Structure Repairable Supporting Structures Loss of Supporting structures 100 80 16 4 Pending & Quality Pending & Quality Assume

The loss of supporting structures shows the equivalent loss in the generation of scrap due to material which gets replaced, required new fabrication and erection etc.

[E] ESTIMATE FOR GLANDING & TERMINATION WORK

As per the submitted report and the surveillance of site, we found several points where there are loose terminations due to higher size of gland which must be replaced. Moreover, replacement of gland requires power-cut to the desired point that finally cause a loss of productivity. We will count it in terms of quality loss of the work which depends on several parameters. To estimate for this section, it is worthy to follow the same tabulated format as under----SL.NO. PARTICULAR % VALUE REMARKS 1 2 3 4 Total Work Quality Work Completed Repairable Balance Loss of Quality 100 90 6 4 Assume Pending & Quality Pending & Quality

The repairable balance works involves not only the galnding and termination works for the motors but also terminations at panels, JCBs etc.

GROSS ESTIMATION In actual practice, there are some invisible losses that come into picture after some time which will affect the performance and efficiency of the system. The value of this loss is not considered here in the estimation due to the unidentification & invisibility of affecting parameters. Other measurable parameters are considered in above estimated tables whose values reflecting an accountable figure. Focusing to our attempt for estimation that includes estimate for repairable work and for irreparable/quality loss of visible nature; here is the ground table of estimation----

SL.NO.

PARTICULARS Estimate for Tray Erection Work Estimate for Cable Dressing Work Estimate for Earthing Work Estimate for Structural Support Work Estimate for Glanding & Termination Work GROUND AVERAGE VALUE

REPAIRABLE VALUE 9 5 15 16 6 10.20

IRREPARABLE VALUE 15 20 2 4 4 9.00
