Dummy burst management: With Energy Saving Mode for BCCH TRX the dummy bursts on idle
timeslots of (non hopping or RF hopping cell) BCCH carrier are transmitted at 2 dB lower power level. BSC also offers the option of 2 dB dynamic power control on circuit switched TCHs on the BCCH TRX, to be used in cells where Energy saving mode for BCCH TRX feature is used. Energy Saving Modes can be used in RF hopping and non-hopping sector. Together these features give reduced electricity consumption throughout the whole day. Power reduction: TRX power down in low traffic TRX
Non BCCH TRX will be shut down during low traffic periods
