The purpose of this course is to train HCC faculty to teach online and to provide resources and methods for

developing and managing quality online courses.

What is this training course?

This is NOT a Canvas training course. (However, I highly encourage faculty to complete the Canvas training before registering for Teaching Online @ HCC.) Teaching Online @ HCC is a self-paced online training course. Each trainee will interact online in Canvas Modules for the majority of the course. Yes. When you have completed the course requirements by the last day of the month, I will send your completion record to Teaching and Learning Services. The PD index number will appear on the Registration Form; you will use this number to register in HCCExpress. You will earn 15 hours of PD credit for completing the course. The course will begin on the first of the month and will conclude by 11:59 p.m. on the last day of the month. There are no onsite meetings, due to the usual large group sizes and the self-paced nature of the course. One can register for the course by consulting the Faculty Canvas Training site, under the Module called Teaching Online @ HCC Training Information. The beauty of the one-month model is that one can consistently expect each offering of Teaching Online @ HCC to begin on the 1st of the month and end on the last day of the month. Please watch your HCC email for announcements.
