Mentoring Program

(Batch 1: April 21th, 2024-July 6th, 2024)

1. Description of Program

This proposed project is a platform where mentors and mentees are connected via meaningful
discussion and sharing of the topics such as skills in reading book, managing the stress and
maintaining high study performance in the university. We are inspired by the idea of "adding
moral values to others,” initiated by Dr. Kol Pheng, the founder of Paññāsāstra University of
Cambodia (PUC). We highly expect that by engaging these two groups in conversation with each
other, they will construct meaningful lessons, skills, and ultimately, a network of young leaders.

Mentors are referring to seniors, graduates, or those who are currently employed in both public
and privates sectors. They possess some level of professional experience, as well as a kind heart
that is willing to share their knowledge with the next generation of leaders.

Mentees are students enrolled in secondary school, high school, or university. They are
individuals who wish to expand their horizons or seek support in terms of motivation, personal
growth, and leadership development.

The program will be opened for registration via online for a certain period of time for both
mentors and mentees. People from both public and private sectors can apply for this training
program. Mentees must be between 16 years old to 25 years old and mentors must be between 23
years old to 40 years old. This training will be conducted in both Khmer and English language.

The announcement of the registration will be made publicly through the official Facebook page
of Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia, AmCam Exchange, and Life Sciences Learning Center.

Throughout the process, the program will select 15 mentors and 30 mentees. Participants will be
matched based on their expertise and work setting(s). The program will be highly flexible
regarding these arrangements to ensure the best match so that mentors and mentees can make the
most of this unique collaborative experience.
2. Objectives

● PUC-LSLC and AmCam Exchange working as a connection hub between the mentors
and mentees for meeting and sharing
● Establishing mutual respect and understanding between the mentors and mentees
● Allowing seniors and fresh graduated students to learn to put their knowledge into
practice while interacting with the mentees
● Helping those who need support in the realms of mental health, leadership, academic
study, career paths, etc.
● Developing the critical thinking and leadership skills of a generation of young
Cambodians through conversation and storytelling

3. Training Schedule

A meeting between the mentor and mentee will occur once in every two weeks during April 6th
to July 6th, 2024. The meeting will take place either in-person or online (see timeframe below).
There will be 7 meetings in total. However, to ensure high quality outcomes and productive
training, we encourage both mentors and mentees to schedule any additional meetings
beforehand. We advise that they meet each other at least once a week. The format of the meeting
can be in-person or online, depending on the availability, commitment, and preferences of the
individuals involved.

It is important to note that any meetings outside of the 4 trainings mentioned in the timeframe
below shall not be the responsibility of this mentoring program. Be sure to follow and abide by
the Cambodian and international human rights laws.

Proposal

Dear Bong Kol Pheng Vaddhana,

I’m writing to request your support and funding the program called “1st Batch Mentoring
Program” run by Life Sciences Learning Center (LSLC) and co-hosted by the AmCam
Exchange. As a member of the LSLC, I am tasked to initiated project and training both for profit
and profit in order to branding as well making LSLC one of the leading training centers for
students and in-service personnel in Cambodia.

Objective : Printing 60 T-shirts for participants and trainers in the mentoring program

Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC) and LSLC are committed to providing students and
the customers a professional development and training both inside and outside the PUC. While
we recognize that our current activities under the LSLC are limited, we are proposing to run a
mentoring program for the upcoming Semester II April - July 2024 with about 60 participants
and volunteers and that requires us to print 60 T-shirts within a limited budget of USD 300.

(1) See attached file below for a printing fee.

This mentoring program is a platform where mentors and mentees are connected via meaningful
discussion and sharing of the topics such as skills in reading book, managing the stress and
maintaining high study performance in the university.
We believe that this program will boost our LSLC’s branding awareness and increase our
presence vividly among our targeted customers both in physical and digital image. And those in-
service personnel who are in need for professional training and short courses will learn that we,
the LSLC, is the right center for training that they are looking for.
