Every debate shall involve two opposing sides ; an affirmative side that supports the resolution and a negative side which contests its validity or proposes an alterative solution. Time limit for speech is fixed to 4 minutes. Minimum speaking time is 3 minutes. Each team shall have an equal amount of speaking time, and a time keeper shall be present at each debate who will press the buzzer after 3 minutes indicating the debater of the remaining 1 minute.After this 1 min. buzzer will be pressed again.If the debater continues his/her speech after second buzzer, he/she will be penalized. Debaters must not read their speeches,though they may make reasonable reference to notes or read verbatim quotations.Judges shall penalize for excessive reading. Oral prompting and heckling by the audience is prohibited. Participants shall use language conductive to proper public speaking decorum. Any dispute over final decision of the judges will be disregarded.The judgement of the judges shall be final . Registration fess is Rs.40. Participants must report for the event at LT-10 by 12:15 sharp.

ANY CONDUCT NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE CODES WILL BE GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION
