The Bilingual Project Award in Andalusia, for the department head who helped to develop new bilingual opportunities.

Asuncin Criado, Asun as we call her, throughout her teaching career has identified perfectly the role which department heads play in achieving the objectives related to the Center's Project and the VET (Vocational Education and Training) Curriculum Project, in particular on bilingualism in the VET. Over the past four years she has been a key person in the development of the bilingual program at our center. We have received many compliments for the work we have done and Asun was one of the main reasons for this. The implementation of a specific bilingual program in our center is a very important innovation. In addition, Asun has provided new ways to improve language skills, both to colleagues and students. Her methodology is to find all types of projects that provide us with these new pathways, such as Comenius, Leonardo, Study Visits, and working in groups. Asun evokes perseverance and motivation through the values she teaches and practices. She encourages her colleagues and students to view the bilingual project as an open door to Europe and a very important way to help to build a common European educational system. Some of the words that come to mind when I think of Asun are hard worker, responsible, capable, and honest. When I give her a job I know it will get done well and on time. She never requires a reminder and never misses a deadline. She welcomes new challenges and assignments. This fall, we want her to be the winner!
