Alpha Cyclone

Combining the major benefits of combis and conventional boilers, the Alpha CD24S is designed to work either as heating only or with an unvented cylinder to provide additional hot water for the larger property. The CD24S Condensing system boiler can be sited almost anywhere and with its wide modulating power output range of 5kW to 24kW it provides the flexible answer to many different installation situations - one boiler covering all outputs.

The first wall-hung condensing storage-combi available in the UK, the Alpha CD50 matches a traditional systems higher flow rate whilst also offering the benefit of hot water on demand, whenever and wherever you want it.

Ideal for larger homes with bath and shower

The Alpha CD50 condensing storage combi is designed to satisfy the hot water and heating requirements of the larger home whilst reducing energy consumption. When the store is fully charged an equivalent domestic hot water output of 50kW gives a flow rate of up to 18 litres per minute at approx 55C - 60C, enough to fill an average bath in about 3 to 5 minutes.

Unique automatic flow regulator means hot water never runs out
After filling a bath if there is still a demand for hot water, the CD50s automatic flow regulator controls the flow to keep the water hot. The Alpha CD50 will therefore always provide hot water no matter how long the hot tap is left open, unlike some other storage combis.

CD50

Fast recovery
When the hot tap is turned off, the CD50s powerful heat exchanger fully recharges the store in about 3 minutes. This quick recovery is achieved by using a double wound stainless steel coil to provide a bigger than usual heating surface area. The size of the coil is also designed to maintain continuous hot water delivery at a usable temperature faster than it can be drawn off.

Wall-hung saves valuable floor space

Even in larger homes floor space is at a premium. Thats why the Alpha CD50 is the first condensing storage combi to be designed to hang on the wall.

No separate tanks or cylinders means a dry loft and more room for living
The mains fed Alpha CD50 does not need a storage tank in the roof space saving on pipework and loft space. Also, with no need for a separate cylinder for hot water, the CD50 frees up space for living so the cylinder cupboard could, for example, provide room for a shower.

Long flue runs Easy flueing

Alphas Condensing boilers have their own telescopic CD EASY-FLUE with both sections brilliant white and the flue terminal factory fitted. Alpha CD EASYFLUE is for simple horizontal flues and is available in two sizes 0.5m and 1.0m. The telescopic inner 1 and outer ducts slide together to make the correct 2 length so there is no measuring, no cutting and no making good as two 3 sealing collars are provided. Alpha telescopic 4 CD EASY-FLUE can save up to an hour installation time 5 and gives a really stylish finish. The Alpha flueing system allows flue runs of up to 12m horizontally and 15m vertically with concentric flues. A complete range of flue accessories is available including 750mm extensions, 90 and 45 bends. Combining 750mm extensions with telescopic CD EASY-FLUE (terminal fitted) provides specifiers and installers with complete siting flexibility.

FLUEING HORIZONTAL FLUES

L1

A simple horizontal flue may have a straight length (L1) of up to 12 metres. Maximum horizontal flue length (after the boiler turret) is 12 metres. Allow 1.3 metre of flue length for each 900 bend, 0.9 metre of flue length for each 450 bend.
L2

For horizontal flues purchase telescopic CD EASY-FLUE with terminal fitted and the relevant number of extensions/bends if flueing more than 1 metre. Allow 1.3m for each extra 900 bend and 0.9m for each 450 bend.

L1

L1

A 900 bend is equivalent to 1.3 metre of straight flue. Maximum length of flue (L1+L2) with 900 bend is 10.7 metres.

A 900 bend off the top of the boiler angled at 450 to the back wall with a 450 bend attached to it. The maximum flue length (L1) using one 450 bend is 11.1 metres.

For vertical flues purchase boiler only and the relevant flue components necessary. Allow 0.9m for each 450 bend. 900 bends are not to be used in a vertical flue system.
V3

VERTICAL FLUES

V1

Maximum vertical flue length is 15 metres. 900 bends are not to be used. Allow 0.9 metre of flue for each 450 bend.

V2 V1

Two 450 bends are equivalent to 1.8 metre of staight flue. The maximum flue length (V1+V2+V3) with two 450 bends is 13.2 metres.

Maximum straight vertical flue length (V1) is 15 metres.

SEALING OPTIONS
Flue sealing collar Two flue sealing collars are included with every telescopic EASY-FLUE, which can be used for making good or to allow internal fixing of the flue on high rise buildings.

Internal flue fixing Where access to the outside is difficult (eg. on high rise buildings) the flue sealing collar allows internal fitting of the collar as shown in diagram C. Drill a 127mm diameter hole (using a standard 5 core drill), locate and secure the sealing collar onto the outer duct of the flue immediately before the terminal. Push the flue assembly through the 127mm diameter flue hole so that the collar passes completely through the wall. Then pull the flue assembly back into its correct position. Visually check that the collar is sealing the outside wall and that it does not restrict any of the openings.

External make good Cut the 110mm diameter hole (a 107mm core drill gives the correct size hole). Fit the flue sealing collar over the flue on the outside as shown in diagram A.

Internal make good The flue sealing collar can be fitted on the inside wall to make good the finish eg. to wallpaper as in diagram B.
