Kazan Model United Nations presents an innovative and engaging educational project the II Kazan Model United Nations (Kazan MUN). It will take place in Kazan on November 12 -17 2012. Kazan MUN is a youth forum that brings together the brightest young minds from leading schools and universities who aim at becoming future leaders and lets them voice their opinions on most urgent global issues. Our main idea is to create a Model UN mostly for school students, providing them access to the discussions of global issues and opportunity to solve them and help to the global society. Model UN is a global educational project endorsed by the UN. Like other MUN conferences held worldwide, Kazan MUN will be dedicated to education through debate, diplomacy and compromise. The conference provides a forum for participants to learn about the fundamental processes and procedures of the UN through simulating the work of UN bodies and committees by: presenting the position statements of a chosen country, writing a resolution for the agenda, debating about possible amendments to the resolution and then voting on the resolution. Finally, according to common practice, the resolution will be passed to the UN Information Centre.
