Phantom of the Opera continue woo audiences at Her Majestys Theatre

The magic of Phantom is wooing audiences at the Her Majestys Theatre. The piece has been running for sell-off performances ever since it debuted at Her Majestys Theatre London. Seen by over millions, today it is Londons longest running show. While running at the venue, the show attained the milestone of 10,000 performances and also celebrated its 25th anniversary. One of West Ends most remarkable theatres, Her Majestys lists among one of the oldest theatre venues of the city. The house was built in 1705 by John Vanbrugh. The current structure was built in 1897 by Herbert Beerbohm Tree and was designed by Charles J. Phipps. It was here that he founded in Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1904 and continued to reside here till his death in 1917. Shows of notable playwrights like George Bernard Shaw, J. M. Synge, Nol Coward and J. B. Priestley have also been hosted here during the period. Oscar Asches sensation Chu Chin Chow performed opened here during the World War I and enjoyed a record breaking run. Her Majestys Theatre London was also home to Mozarts acclaimed operas La clemenza di Tito, Cos fan tutte and Don Giovanni.
