Reminders and Upcoming Events:
March 28th- Dress down day.
Dress like your favorite i-pad app/character day. Students should be creative (for example: on a piece of paper, draw the icon and tape it to your t-shirt) Some examples of ipad apps include facebook, Temple Run, Angry Birds, Fun Run, Calculator, Instagram, Weather. Look out for the posters for more ideas. May 2nd Grade 1 Assembly.

Week of March 24th 28th

Math: Introduction to fractions. Exploring parts of a whole. Revisit rounding. Resources- Flash Cards or Concentration applications on I Pad, http://www.ixl.com Literacy: Working on correct sentence structure (Ongoing). Continue learning new letter blends. Developing skills in order to write a persuasive piece. Introduction into adjectives. Resources- Visit http://www.storyplace.org, where you can make interactive stories and http://www.starfall.com, as well as Flash Cards application on the I Pad to practice sight words. Unit of Inquiry: How do natural disasters impact the lives of people? What are some ways people help victims of natural disasters and why? Encourage your child to ask questions at home regarding natural disasters and ways in which we can help.
