A Mufrad or Kalima) ( is a meaningful word.

It is of three types:
1. Noun ()
2. Verb ()
3. Particle ( )
Definitions:
A noun is a word which indicates a person, place, animal, thing or a quality without any relation to time.
For example:
,( specific name); ( a student); ( a female student); ( a man)
( name of a place); ( a room)
( a horse); ( a chair); ( good)

A verb is a word which denotes an action with relation to a particular time(past, present or future).
For example:
( he hit), ( he went), ( he is going or he will go)
( we worship), ( I seek refuge)

A particle is a word, the meaning of which cannot be understood without an accompanying noun or a
verb.
For example:
(from), ( on), ( in), (till)

( The man went to the masjid).
( The horse is in the room).

A Murakkab or Kalam (( is a meaningful compound of words. It is of two types:


1. Beneficial)(
2. Non-beneficial)(

A beneficial compound is a group of words which express a complete idea and join together to form a
complete sentence
For example:

( Sara is in the masjid)



( He is the Most-Gracious, the Most-Merciful)

A non-beneficial compound is a group of which express an incomplete idea and join together to form a
phrase
For example:
( The messenger of Allah); ( The word of Allah); ( Maryam and Fatima)

( The Most-Gracious, the Most-Merciful);
( Master of the Day of Judgment)
