BIO-ROBOTICS

BRINGING BIOLOGY AND ROBOTICS TOGETHER.

By Nic Conroy and Brian Johnson

What is Biorobotics?
Field covering cybernetics, bionics, genetic engineering, and robotics. Research into the use of various forms of robotics to create replace limbs, lifelike robots, and possibly enhance the human body.

Why Bio-Robotics?
Animal Like robots are playing a huge role in combining the fields of biology and engineering. There are several uses for bio-robotics. *Tactical Military Uses. * Disabled People. *Advancements in the fields of Biology, Engineering, Computer Sciences, and many other science fields.

A Look At The Current State

Sensors hooked to the motor cortex of the brain enable monkeys to operate the robotic arm in the same manor as their biological arm Currently BCI or Brain Computer Interface allows the use of computers by the physically handicap by taking signals directly from the brain.
