Rule 1 : for a singular (one) noun add an

apostrophe and an S = S. Rule 2 : for a plural (2 or more) noun that ends in an S, only add apostrophe after the plural noun. Rule 3 : for a plural (2 or more) noun that does not end in S, add an apostrophe and S.
