Jeff Johnson FRIT 7738 Assessment Data of Staff Development Workshop

To collect information for the assessment aspect of the workshop, I encouraged teachers to complete a 3-2-1 reflection as a summarizer for this activity. They were to list three possible ways they could use the ActivExpression in their classroom. Second, they were to list two possible solutions to creating questions for formative or summative assessments. Lastly, they were to list one question or misunderstanding they still have at this point. Not everyone in attendance completed the 3-2-1 activity. From the ones collected, it was evident that my overall objective was met. Of those who did complete the assessment (approximately 13), all of them could easily come up with 3 possible ways to use the LRS in their subject. Some of these responses were: I can use this tool to quickly conduct math problems. I could see using this to identify different rocks or minerals by showing an image and using multiple choices. This is a great formative assessment tool to use quickly while teaching history.

On the second part of the assessment tool, all correctly identified the two methods of asking questions using the LRS. I did have a few questions in the misunderstanding area. These questions helped me identify problems that I could revise and include or not include if I were to do this again. Some of these misunderstandings were: Can I use any active Hub or do I need to use the one that comes with the hand devices? Do all the devices have to be on for the system to work? Can students use different devices each day or do they have to use the same ones each time?

The feedback received from this assessment data is helpful in identifying the areas of my presentation that may not have been clear or to point out information I did not cover.
