1 Delta Epsilon is proud to present TWO scholarships this year to University of Rio Grande senior year students working toward their degree in education. Jacquelyn Coyan is a senior and will be student teaching at Bundy Elementary this spring semester. Jacquelyn just passed her Praxis II and is excited to begin her career. Autumn Smith from Oak Hill is also a senior and will be student teaching at Oak Hill HS. Autumns degree will be in secondary mathematics education. Each scholarship winner received a monetary award to be used for their student teaching expenses. New Member Installation During our October meeting we officially welcomed two new members to Delta Epsilon. Pam Patterson teaches language arts at Wellston Middle School in Wellston, Ohio. She grew up in Athens and has 7 children. She went to college at the same time as child #5. Pam is in her third year of teaching. Amy Meade (on the left in the photo) teaches 6th grade math at Wellston Middle School and has been teaching for two years. Wellston is also Amys alma mater.

After the meal and regular meeting, the scholarship committee started the auction. Committee members from left to right: Sandy Wilkin, Crystal Coyan, and Mary Nutt did a wonderful job setting up the event.
Members brought in a covered dish meal as the meeting was held at the Markay Cultural Arts Center in Jackson.

Roush will be taking over the newsletter for the upcoming year. Tammy is employed by the Gallia-Jackson-Vinton JVSD but teaches at Oak Hill High School. This is what is called a satellite teacher. Thank you Tammy for volunteering to help your chapters communication committee. If you have a news story, something you would like to share with the group, job promotion, etc. contact Tammy to give her the scoop.
Grilled Salmon
Salmon fillet, with the skin Sea salt, or an infused salt (I like lime/ginger) Brown Sugar Soy Sauce *no amounts given, just go by preference Place salmon skin side down on foil. (the skin helps the meat stay together, if you use skinless, use a cooking spray on the foil. Rub the salt and brown sugar over the top of the fillet. Pour soy sauce over the top. Place on grill approx. 350 deg (med heat) and close the lid. 20 minutes later take it off the grill and enjoy!
