This course provides an interdisciplinary overview of the experiences of Mexican Americans, Puerto GEN ED college option: Struggle Ricans and other Latino/as during the Civil Rights for Justice & Equality in the U.S. period. It focuses on the Latino/a social movements (300-level) during the 1960s and their consequences today for the struggles for civil rights and social justice of Major in Criminal Justice Latino/as and other racial minorities in the US. Major in Political Science Topics include access to education and employment; Major in Culture and immigrant rights; detention and deportation; race Deviance Studies and crime; Latino/a and African American Major in Legal Studies alliance building; Latino/a citizenship and the Major in Humanities and Justice military and gender values and sexuality. Prerequisite: English 201
