Use
We use the verb To Be to describe ourselves

I am a boy

I am The Little Prince I am tall and I am thin

I am blonde
I am fourteen years old

I am Handsome

I am smart

We use the verb To Be to explain


What ARE they doing? They ARE reading What colour IS the girls hair? It IS blonde How many kids ARE there? There ARE two kids

What ARE the kids reading?


They ARE reading a book

We use the verb To Be for time, days of the week, climate, seasons

Today IS thursday

It IS raining outside
It IS winter

It IS 7:15pm It IS cold today

Today IS monday

We also use the verb To Be for professions


She IS a doctor
He IS a teacher

He is an architect
She IS a secretary

The verb To Be is always used when we want to talk about something, someone or ourselves For singular we use IS and for plural we use ARE The verb To Be is the most important verb in English, we always have to use it.
