Mrs. Toggles class comes in for what seems to be a normal day of school. They soon figure out that Mrs. Toggle is stuck in her jacket because the pull-tab is missing. The children want to start learning so they bring Mrs. Toggle to the nurse in hopes that she can fix the problem. After not being successful by pulling the jacket they seek out the principals help. His suggestion was to pull in different directions while standing in straight lines. After figuring out that it isnt the solution they call for the janitor. He uses his pliers to free Mrs. Toggle and suggested she get a new pull-tab before zippering again. This is a situational book that teaches the children the effort of solving problems. It gets them to think through and not to get upset, they will find a solution. This literacy book reveals different scenarios that may help get Mrs. Toggles zipper undone. For the activity for this book there is a worksheet containing seven different scenarios on things that may get stuck. There will be blanks in the sentences that the students will fill in to complete the sentences. Standards for this are 2.RL.7 and 2.L.6.
