ARTICLE REVIEW:KEEPING THE WORK PLACE SAFE

Introduction The purpose of this article is examined health and safety in the workplace. This journal discuss about violence in the workplace. Working days are lost every year because of work related health and workplace injury. In addition, each year nearly one million workers are under threat at the workplace by people of public. Threats received by workers not only from the outside but also from fellow workers in the workplace. Therefore, the employer is also responsible for providing protection to employees. The findings in this article from journal The Home Office and Health and Safety Executive are include are group at risk , acts of physical violence, safe place and system of work and risk assessment. 1. group at risk this article showed that we can identify the security and protective the highest risk group in term of actual physical followed by nurses, care workers, public-transport workers and people working in the hotel and catering trade, education and retail. Many employers do not realize that they must report any accidents that occur on their employees. This way makes the enables the Health and Safety Executive and local councils to investigate and identify the risks faced by workers. Employers must report work related accidents , killed or suffer a major injury, or a member of the public is killed or taken to hospital. The

employer must immediately notify the incident contact center, and follow this up with a completed accident reported form within ten days. The author refers to the safety aspect is one of the factors that determine comfort in the workplace. So employers must ensure that workers can be avoided from the accident and health disorders. This is to prevent the loss of working days. 2.Act of Physical Violence The employer must also complete an accident report form within ten days if there is an accident connected with work which causes an employee enable to complete his or her normal duties for more than three days. The employer must send a completed disease report form if a doctor notifies the employer that an employee is suffering from a reportable work related disease. Any employee who suffers an accident should be recorded in the accident book. Book record in this accident should contain information relating to those accidents, which includes name, address, occupation, date, time of occurrence, and the type of injury. Accidents in the workplace should be investigated immediately. This is because we can determine whether the medical emergency and damage control is needed and to estimate the potential dangers faced in the workplace. Importance of the accident book to ensure that the injuries are properly recorded. Defer from written journal, he recommend employers to investigate any event in the workplace that has caused injury or illness. The law does not formally require such

investigation, but they can help employers to rectify their health and safety management procedures and so make their workplaces safer. 3.Safe Place and System of Work In addition, the roles of employers are providing safe place and system of work. also have a duty of care, covered by the law of negligence, to ensure their employees are kept safe from danger. A concerned employee might be justified in resigning and claiming unfair constructive dismissal if he or she feels that the employer has breached that duty of care. The employers must give a workplace which comfortable and safe from danger. The employees also given explanation about the system of work for easy to make the work. System of work is also among the factors that can determine the comfort in the

workplace. so employers must ensure that employees perform their duties with ease. comfort in the workplace associated with the atmosphere created in the workplace, such as the placement of physical, ergonomic features are available on the equipment, temperature, light can generate enthusiasm and provide motivation to work better. 4.Risk Assessment Health and Safety at Work Regulation require The employers must take care about their employee when have accident or sick for make sure the employee get fair in company. Besides that, the employers also must not make discrimination to employees. The employers must give good comfortable and safe. protect to employee so their can make the work with

With the employer can improve workplace safety and provide clear guidelines on how to keep safety in the workplace. employers must provide information about the exposure of workers and work teams to a hazardous work such as physical, chemical and biological agents. This can help employers ensure that the risks of workers exposed to hazardous conditions. Other than that, employers can

identify employees who are able to work in a high risk to workers on duty to maintain compatibility and to ensure they are capable of returning to work after the accident or injury. Conclusion The journal explain about responsible employers to provide workplace safe and health employee awake. Beside that, when the employee have some accident, the employers must give help such as money to accommodate the medicine cost. The employee also must be cared to sexual harassment in workplace. The employee also be cared from physical violence.
