Identified Issue: During stages of learning time concepts students may not be able to make links between the visual (digital and analogue clock) and verbal terminology when telling the time (Booker, 2010). This can occur across all levels.

Curriculum links: Australian curriculum Mathematics Year 1 measurement and geometry - Tell time to the halfhour (ACMMG020) Australian curriculum Mathematics Year 2 measurement and geometry - Tell time to the quarter-hour, using the language of 'past' and 'to' (ACMMG039)

How this activity helps: By playing this game students will develop their skills of reading both digital and analogue times. The game is designed to be played as a warm up/down activity to develop automatic response and consolidate key skills in a fun and interactive way. The game can be used across all three levels of ability. The game also appeals to visual, audio and kinaesthetic learners. It is important that turn taking is valued while playing to ensure that each students gets a turn to be caller over a period of time. The game can also be played in small groups of students sorted by ability to support or extend their learning.
