POSTER DESIGN THEME

Our posters theme is depression, it will use images that are closely tied or subtly convey the idea of total despair, desperation or frustration. The first design depicts a drowning man, alone and completely at the nonexistent mercy of the dark ocean. The second design is a fist smashing a mirror the shattered pieces reflect the persons moments and memories of despair, his fist bleeding. The third design shows a bleeding arm, with multiple self-inflicted knife-injuries. Blood drips downwards from the wounds. The final design shows a crowd of people holding balloons and kites, but the person in the middle stands alone holding a pair of scissors, his balloon popped and his thread severed. This is meant to symbolize both self-isolation and self-harm.

STORY OVERVIEW
The story of our video is basically about a depressed boys birthday. In the beginning we see the father physically abuse him; we then see him getting frowned upon and looked down on by passersby when he accidentally reveals his self-mutilated scars; even in class he sits alone while the rest are having dancing and singing, refusing to join even when hes invited; later we see him sitting on a rooftop, thinking back on what happened to him that day and sobbed and cried and screamed, but in the end he could not bring himself to jump; after that he walks home alone, but is stopped by a classmate who noticed his agony, and treated him at a restaurant. They started chatting, our main character finally has a person who would listen and not judge him, and smiles for the first time since ages ago. The poster reflects the themes of the signs of depression, emphasizing on the feelings of agony, despair and loneliness, with bouts of self-harm and self-isolation.

LOGO
We will not be using a logo for the posters themes, mainly because we want to use the imagery itself to convey the themes of the video. Also a logo would look out-of-place since the poster designs are very imagery-oriented, meaning the objects themselves are the symbols of the themes we use. But we will use the logos of our representative NGO, the Befrienders and our sponsor, Youth Creative.

SPONSORS LOGO
As aforementioned, our sponsor Youth Creatives logo will be included in the posters, as part of the rules and also as credits.
