za 27 January 2012 To Whom it may Concern, Craig James Musician Extraordinaire It gives me pleasure to record that I have known Craig James as both musician and band leader since 1993 when I had the privilege of booking his 7 piece brass/jazz/soul band Soul Purpose (inter alia featuring the legendary Mike Faure) into music festivals in the surrounding cities of Gauteng, a province in South Africa. As time moved on so did Craig. Continually keeping abreast of musical trends and styles, Craig later formed the band Sounds Brass and Whos News (the smaller version), both of which were frequently booked by my company into a large variety of corporate events, many directly through our booming Events Planning client data base. Having been a preferred supplier to Sun City, SAs premier Casino and Hotel resort, Craigs bands enjoyed regular bookings, all rendering happy clients...no mean feat considering the resorts extremely high expectations and standards! Amongst a host of other productions, Craig was also personally responsible for the hugely successful Legend of The Eagles show...a tribute to these musical greats that had the audiences spellbound! The show was undoubtedly the closest thing to the Eagles ever experienced in South Africa! It is perhaps further noteworthy to mention that Craig, through his valuable contribution to local music was inducted as a Music Maestro by SA Breweries, the largest brewer in Africa and owner of the international Millers brand, amongst a host of others. Local musicians, scrambling for membership, but not quite meeting the desired standards consider this the ultimate prize! It goes without saying that we, as booking agents miss Craigs talents and reliability. However, understanding his goals and ambitions, he has the assurance that he and his family have taken with them our very best wishes!
