Working independently how important is the physical environment you work in? Very important. I need to be surrounded by my books and I need a creative, clear space in which to work. The work space is very important, all work stems from it in a way. My studio is where I create. I am surrounded by my work, by inspiring work by others, by ephemera Ive found and most importantly, perhaps by my books. I have not only useful books on grids, typography etc. but well designed art monographs, experimental publications, zines etc. All of this informs who I am as a designer.
