Dear Oblates from Jaffna Province, Dear Scholastics, Novices, pre-novices and students of the Juniorate,

It has already been a couple of weeks since I ended my visit in your Province, and it is only today that I have some time to write a few words of thanks for the wonderful time I spent among you. It was short, but so intense in many ways! I am so happy that I have been able to visit practically every Oblate house and/or community of your Unit except 1 or 2 places, and that it had the chance to meet nearly every Oblate of your Unit through the district and/or local community meetings that were very well organized; I also had the opportunity to spend some time with several among you who wanted to meet me on a personal basis. Every place I visited, every Oblate, student, parishioner, etc. I had the privilege to meet made me truly proud to be an Oblate of Mary Immaculate. As I write these few words, I still have in mind and in my heart the exceptional moments with you all, and also with some of the people you minister to in your Province. I already had the chance to do it personally with them, but again I want to thank very much Fr. Rene, your Provincial Treasurer, and Fr. Jey from the Scholasticate. They both worked very hard to prepare the programme of the visit and all the logistics. And of course, I also want to thank your Provincial for the warm welcome in your Unit.
