Graduated as a mechanica l engineer, Morris Fuller Benton became more of a creator or imaginer than originally tho ught. He went on to work along side his fat her in the type design department of the American Type Founders Company. By the end of his career he became a prolific desig ner in America, with producing 221 typesfac es. Bentons fonts range from such well known ones as Broadway to recreations of Bodoni. With the great diversity in his work ca me the humorous, and unique designs of Hobo to Stymie. And typographers, to this da y, thank him for his creation of the now well known Families for fonts.
