Design Project

Project Description: The frame shown is part of a warehouse 18 m wide and 24 m long. It is made of a steel of Fy = 355 MPa. In addition to its weight, it is subjected to following loads: Superimposed Dead load; SD, Snow Load; S, Live load; L, Wind loads; W, and W1.

All the columns are HEA, and all beams are IPE larger or equal to IPE 360. The roof truss is made of a half HEA top and bottom chords, equal leg double angles verticals and diagonals angles.

Design:

Design the following items: 1. All columns, 2. All beams (each of the 6 beams has an additional lateral support at mid-span), 3. Truss members: Top chord, Bottom chord, Verticals, Diagonals, One connection; at the highest point of the bottom chord of the truss.
