Diamante Poem Brainstorm!


Think about things that are opposite. Make a list of at least 10 opposite pairs. For example: Cat & Dog Teacher & Student Boy & Girl Up & Down Pick your favorite opposite pair. This will be the subject of your poem. Start making a list of words you associate with these two opposite things!

FIRST: Number your paper from 1-7 (skip lines in between) Line 1 and Line 7: Think of two interesting words that are opposites. Write one on the first line and one on the last line Line 2: Think of words that describe the noun in line 1. Pick two and write them down. Line 3: Write down three ing verbs that describe line 1. Line 4: Write down two nouns that describe line 1. Next, write down two nouns that describe line 7. (This is where the opposite part begins!) Line 5: Write down three ing verbs that describe line 7. Line 6: Think of words that describe the noun in line 7. Pick two and write them down.
