Quran 18:86
until when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it setting in a black muddy
spring, and he found thereat a people. We said, O Dhu l Qarnain! thou mayest
either torment these people, or treat them well.
Coran 18:86
Et quand il eut atteint le Couchant, il trouva que le soleil se couchait dans une
source boueuse, et, aprs d'elle il trouva une peuplade [impie]. Nous dmes: "O ZulQarnayn! ou tu les chties, ou tu uses de bienveillance leur gard".

The Prophet asked me at sunset, "Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of
sunset)?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better." He said, "It goes (i.e.
travels) till it prostrates Itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to
rise again, and it is permitted...

Traduction
Un soir au coucher du soleil le Prophte me demanda "Sais-tu o le soleil va
(lorsqu'il se couche)?" Je rpondis, "Allah et Son messager le savent mieux." Il dit,
"Il se prosterne sous le Trne, demande la permission de se lever nouveau, et la
permission lui est donne.

rise again, and it is permitted and then (a time will come when) it will be about to
prostrate itself but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to
go on its course but it will not be permitted, but it will be ordered to return whence
it has come and so it will rise in the west.
Traduction
Puis (un jour viendra o) il se prosternera mais sa prosternation ne sera pas
accepte. Il demandera la permission de continuer son chemin, mais cela ne lui sera
pas accord. On lui ordonnera de retourner d'o il vient. Alors il se lvera l'ouest.
