INTERNAL/EXTERNAL POSTING Closing Date: Wednesday July 24th, 2013 Childcare Supervisor Kitsilano Neighbourhood House is looking for a caring, mature, energetic, flexible and organized individual to provide leadership to our childcare programs. Hours: 35 hours per week, 21/hrs direct service and 14/hrs administration Rate: $16.92-$18.84 depending on qualifications, excellent benefit package Start Date: August 15th, 2013 Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the program, communicating with families and caregivers, maintaining all licensing requirements and for providing 21 hours of direct service. The Childcare supervisor is also responsible for the planning, implementation and maintenance of Kits House Childcare Programs including program planning and delivery, financial management, program development, public relations, systems maintenance and human resources management. Qualifications Required: Post-secondary education in child development or related field; or combination of education and experience Minimum 2 years experience working in a childcare facility Experience supervising staff, volunteers and practicum students Class 5 Drivers License mandatory and access to a vehicle Class 4 Drivers License (or willingness to obtain) mandatory Success implementing licensing requirements Ability to manage a budget Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Ticket Minimum age 19 years (as required by C.C.F.L.B. regulations) Planning, organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to keep clear and detailed records and reports Ability to work in a multicultural, multi-programmed environment Ability to work with families of program participants Ability to work cooperatively in a non-profit and volunteer-based organization Attitudes and values which are compatible with the goals and philosophy of Kits House Willingness to engage in the development and implementation of special events and celebrations hosted by the Neighbourhood House.
