Childcare Supervisor
Kitsilano Neighbourhood House is looking for a caring, mature, energetic, flexible and organized individual to provide leadership to our childcare programs. Hours: 20 hours per week Rate: $16.59- $18.47 depending on qualifications, excellent benefit package Start Date: As soon as possible Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the program, communicating with families and caregivers and maintaining all licensing requirements. The Childcare supervisor is also responsible for program planning and delivery, managing program budgets, promoting the programs in the community, hiring and orientating staff and supporting a strong cohesive staff team. Qualifications Required: Post-secondary education in child development or related field; or combination of education and experience Minimum 2 years experience working in a childcare facility Experience working with special needs children is an asset Experience supervising staff, volunteers and practicum students Class 4 Drivers License (or willingness to obtain) Knowledge of licensing requirements Ability to manage a budget Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Ticket Minimum age 19 years (as required by C.C.F.L.B. regulations) Planning, organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to keep clear and detailed records and reports Ability to work in a multicultural, multi-programmed environment Ability to work with families of program participants Ability to work cooperatively in a non-profit and volunteer-based organization Second language is an asset Creativity, initiative, enthusiasm flexibility and a good sense of humor.
