Family-to-Family Network Director

Full time exempt, 40 hours/week

Job Purpose:
The Family-to-Family Network Director plans and coordinates administrative and operational activities
for multiple projects that comprise the Family Voices Indiana Family-to-Family Health Information
Network to ensure they fulfill organizational mission and defined program, project or funded activities
and deliverables. Duties include project implementation, staff management, administration and
communications. The director acts as an internal and external organizational liaison and assists in
developing programs and budgets to support the organization's strategic direction and creating and
managing long term goals.
Responsibilities

Project Management (75%)


● Determine the need for subcontractors to meet the goals of grants, projects or professional
contracts.
● Recruit, interview, hire and fire an active network of subcontracted Health Information
Specialists (HIS) in collaboration with assistant network and executive directors.
● Ensure that all HIS receive appropriate orientation to the organization, its systems and current
projects.
● Plan and implement voluntary training for HIS.
● Provide case-specific support to HIS when needed.
● Assist with management of electronic communications platforms.
● Compile content for FV listserv.
● Other tasks as needed to implement FV Indiana’s strategic plan and the goals of various grants.

Advocacy (20%)

● Expand opportunities for parent/professional partnership through representation on


committees, in work groups, task forces or special projects.
● Keep abreast of current systems and services through participation in staff trainings, conference
calls, readings, online webinars or in-person training.
● In alignment with FV Indiana’s strategic plan, develop and implement a framework for local
advocacy and policy change efforts.
● Keep abreast of legislation and/or policies that pertain to children with special health care needs
and the broader disability community and ensure FV Indiana remains compliant.

Training (5%)

● Train organizations, family groups and businesses about FV Indiana and mission-specific topics.
● Develop family leaders by assisting in planning and hosting training events, including the annual
Family Voices Indiana Heart to Heart Conference.

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and abilities:


● Knowledge of healthcare financing, including Medicaid, private insurance and the Affordable
Care Act.
● Knowledge of health, government and education services and systems in Indiana.
● Experience managing staff and/or contractors.
● Experience working with families to identify resources and provide support.
● Experience researching and following health and human service policy issues.
● Proficient in social media and electronic communications planning and administration.
● Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse communities, including
those who are traditionally underserved.
● Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
● Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
● Parent or family member of a person with a special healthcare need or disability a plus.
● Bilingual a plus.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, public health, project management or related field

Experience:
5 or more years planning and management experience
