Youth Parliamentarian tasks include representing young people in their electorate, bill writing, parliamentary meetings and community engagement. Developing Child Safety Youth Bill 2013 o This bill focuses on the idea of law reform around the issue of child abuse. It aims to reform the s24 defence of the QLD Criminal Code, the penalties and sentences associated with child abuse and sex crimes in the QCC, as well as implementing safeguarding strategies which are now lacking. The overall aim of the bill is the protection of children, and this bill aims to tackle the deficiencies in the current system of laws.
