Job purpose

DKT Mozambique is looking for a highly experienced and qualified HR Director who
will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the
Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of
the organization's mission and talent strategy. We are seeking an experienced HR
director with outstanding people skills to manage our personnel and ensure that our
human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to
overall business objectives. Duties for the HR director will include supervising HR
personnel, dealing with employee grievances and disputes, supporting employee
development, enhancing job satisfaction, designing onboarding procedures,
implementing HR strategies that support business objectives, forecasting staffing
needs, mitigating risk, structuring benefit packages, maintaining employee records,
managing budgets, designing accountability mechanisms, and overseeing overall
employment needs.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high work ethic, excellent
communication skills, knowledge of labor regulations and HR practices, strategic
thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The
exceptional HR director should improve HR processes, implement strategies that
support business growth, improve morale and employee retention, enhance safety and
wellness, strengthen relations between staff and employers, manage job satisfaction,

family planning, safe abortion, and HIV/AIDS prevention through dynamic social

Duties and responsibilities

Primary job duties and responsibilities are:

• Developing and implementing human resources policies.

• Developing and Maintaining organizational salary/employee compensation
scales.
• Supporting strategic objectives.
• Hiring staff and negotiating employment agreements.
• Ensuring compliance with national laws and regulations.
• Managing staff wellness and performance reviews.
• Motivating and supporting current staff.
• Maintaining staff records.
• Employee leave management.
• Payroll, INSS & social security payment assistance to the finance department.
• Handling employee benefits.
• Identifying staffing needs and creating job descriptions.
• Designing and directing training programs.

Qualifications & Job location

• A University Bachelor degree in Law, Human Resources, Business

administration or a similar field, a Master degree is a pre.
• Specialized knowledge of HR management with at least 8 years of experience.
Experience working for INGOs is a pre, with a demonstrated relevant
progressive experience.
• Experience with Work Permit applications and work visa applications for
expat staff at the organization.
• Excellent skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with SAP
is a pre.
• Sets a strong learning culture in their part of the organization.
• Remains calm and positive under pressure and in difficult situations.
• Aware of impact on others and adjusting own behavior accordingly.
• Tolerant of difference – cultural sensitivity in relation to its impact on HR.
• Able to work independently and fast, think out of the box, results oriented,
and a team player.
• Fluent in both English and Portuguese, both written as well as orally.
• Location: DKT Mozambique headquarters in Maputo with occasional travel to
the provincial teams.
