Our story:

Blackpanda is Asia’s premier cyber security incident response firm, hyper-focused on digital forensics
and cyber crisis response. Our team consists of an elite cadre of risk and security experts from
various specializations, military special forces, intelligence, forensics, and law enforcement. We are
also a fully distributed team across the globe and will be there 24/7 to help if a breach occurs.

In addition, Blackpanda successfully closed a $15m USD Series A co-led by global leading private
equity firms Primavera Venture Partners and Gaw Capital Partners.

What are we looking for:

• At Blackpanda, our Talent Management team is the engine that enables our people to
succeed. We are seeking a qualified Human Resources Generalist to help us drive
hypergrowth across Asia by designing Silicon Valley-like practices and culture within the
organization with Asian characteristics in mind. As there have been few companies built in
this style and model in the Asia region, this is a particularly unique challenge that will require
innovation, creativity, and above all, outstanding execution and follow through to be
successful.
• This role will balance both strategic and operational responsibilities—you will think big
picture strategy regarding People Operations and how it supports the overall business and
ESG objectives of the company and advise the C-suite management directly on all matters
pertaining, while rolling-up your sleeves to drive execution of strategic HR initiatives.
Candidates should be familiar with newer models of talent management, like the Top of
Market pay model, 360 degree continuous performance review systems, and be confident
constructing globally competitive benefit packages.
• The role will include at least one direct report, a Talent Acquisition Manager, and the team
will be further developed under the Director of Talent as the company continues our rapid
expansion. The right candidate will possess excellent energy and enthusiasm with a deep-
seated desire to help people and build a team culture that will further expand Blackpanda’s
position as the premier cyber security resiliency firm in Asia.
• The Director of Talent reports directly to the Chief of Staff.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Recruitment:

• Build recruitment strategies that meets long term business objectives


• Supervise, manage, and guide the Talent Acquisition Manager in their day-to-day
responsibilities and ensure execution of all duties to standard.
• Help manage and build positive relationships with recruitment agencies and drive the
candidate hiring pipelines via LinkedIn, Lever, and other online platforms.
• Grow our Tribe and recruit talent by understanding the markets and using the right channels
and tools.
• Collaborate with hiring managers on their vertical expansion strategies including well-
structured reporting lines, clearly defined responsibilities, and both geographical and
seniority balance as required.

People Operations:

• Form suitable remote work ergonomics and set up the best practices for the team
• Inspire and promote strong team member morale and welfare as well as guide
establishment of company culture according to Blackpanda Core Values
• Work on various dimensions within the People areas.
• Research and stay abreast of new HR trends and relevant changes in government rules,
regulations, and policies, implementing changes as appropriate and within the expected
timeframes.
• Serve as a trusted team member advisor for all members of the company – providing
coaching and implementing solutions to address team member issues
• Coordinate and allocate Executive Coaching to key executives, leaders, and staff as
appropriate

Talent Management & Strategy:

• Provide HR advice to the leadership teamWork with the leadership team to determine talent
priorities and develop a strategy to attract, retain and engage employees
• Develop and deliver on strategies to support the culture
• Design, develop, and implement 360 continuous performance review system via SaaS tools
and mobile apps which is interlinked with talent recruiting pipeline system
• Develop and own the organizational processes and guidelines with respect to roles and
responsibilities
• Oversee and implement employee experience journey by sharpening onboarding,
offboarding and personal development to ensure Blackpanda’s Tribe is ready to make
impact
• Drive employee engagement and Blackpanda values Work with hiring managers to define
career progression plans within each vertical to support internal development

People Admin:

• Work closely with Legal Counsel to standardize team member contracting globally with
consideration for local statutory requirements
• Manage and administrate the employee benefits program including group medical
insurance, training allowance, leave management, and other initiatives to ensure
Blackpanda remains competitive as a top employer
• Own the application and renewal of employment visas with a good habit of documentation.
• Structure or revise and implement HR policies, collaborating with Legal Counsel and Chief of
Staff to ensure congruency in tone and structure.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 10-15 years’ experience in Human Resources functions such as Talent Management,


Recruitment, organizational design, learning & development, and employee relations.
• Experience in creating and fostering an inclusive work environment in a multinational
organization with a diverse team structure
• Experience recruiting into global locations and navigating different employment laws
• Experience in the Technology / Cyber Security industries is preferred, but not required
• Proficiency with HR record-keeping management tools and resources
• Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

What we offer:

• This role is based in Singapore or Hong Kong. With our ‘Work From Anywhere’ policy (Level
II), the candidate can work from anywhere for maximum 1x week each month subject to
alignment with business and operational requirements, and being available for a minimum 6
hours between 9am and 6pm Singapore timezone to sync with the Tribe.
• 40 days paid leave per year to also be used in lieu of all gazetted Singapore holidays at user
choice. This is due to the global arrangement of personnel with different public holidays and
the requirement of the company to be on stand-by as a crisis response unit 24/7/365.
• Work-life balance - no scheduled internal meetings on Fridays, unless absolutely necessary.
• Enrollment in the company corporate health plan (where available) or USD$100 per month
allowance.
• Opportunities for travel, team onsite meet-ups and training opportunities.

Compensation:

Cash: SGD 150,960

Equity: ESOP baseline award proportionate to the annual compensation for a total of 54,000 options
valuated approximately at SGD 67,932 with a strike price set at current Fair Market Value, with a 5-
year vesting period inclusive of a 1-year cliff.

Continuous learning:

Blackpanda will sponsor the cost of no less than one (1) training course each calendar year. The topic
of the training will be your choice, subject to approval by your manager, and will be no greater than
USD$5,000 annually.
