Im Alice Raponi, the 143rd International Volunteer here at PDH. I was sent to Togo by the Italian organisations Casa Padre Angelo and Centre di formazione alla solidarietinternazionale, who work with charities in developing countries all over the world. Im 26 years old and a graduate in International Cooperation and Development from the University of Sapienza in Rome. Ive been here 2 months so far and Im finding the work very interesting, and am particularly enjoying having the opportunity to see something different to that which Im accustomed in the Western world. I have always worked with development organizations, so having the chance to work with a charity that gives direct aid has been eye-opening and useful for my professional development. I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to the staff at PDH, with whom I have spent so much time here they have been very welcoming and easy to get to know. I have discovered that there are some problems that are simply universal: exams, searching for a job, internships, how to get on with your boss and teachers, and hopes and expectations for the future!
