What social problem are you solving with your venture / initiative?

( max 120 words) 

As I reside in rural area, I discover low self awarness of local people on the importance of self
development. Furthermore, The young local people find it hard to identify their dream and build the
character since they lack of such platform to help them and few role model to get inspired. No to
mention, a number of local people end up jobless after graduating from universitysince they are less
competitive in workforce. Therefore their contribution in developing the city is minimum. My friends
and I realise the ability to develop soft skill e.g leadership, public speaking and language are
important. Therefore, We started giving softskill trainning to young local people with hope those help
them grow better.

Please summarise your venture / initiative (elevator pitch, max 120 words).

Funtastic Learning (FL) is a non-government organization with education, social and youth-based.
This community is aimed to help young local people in develop their talent and achieve their dreams
better. FL operates in the area of Aceh, which has headquarter in Langsa, East Aceh. Established in
2016, FL has been conducting various programs on developing and improving human resource,
especially teenagers e.g language education, talents development, and leadership skill trainnings. We
employ professional tutors to ensure the quality and comprehension of our students. Our programs
have significantly improved building character of local people which help them develope well.

What is the social impact of your venture / iniiative to date? (max 120 words)

Our very first movement called Youth Summit, involving active participation of youth in social
movement. This program was succesfully conducted to meet 50 young local people where they
learnt education, social and entrepreneurship issue and earned a great motivation from the
speakers and other participants. In 2017 and 2018, we succesfully conducted giving back program
collaborated with NZ foundation Australia. This involves exchange learning between university and
school students and less fortunate children to raise the sense of giving and caring to others. Beside,
We consistantly provide free toefl class in order to improve their language proficiency.

What is your role within your social venture / initiative?

I am holding two positions at Funtastic Learning; co-founder and director. As a co founder, I


contribute to design, develope and assemble a comprehensive team to run the programs. While as a
director of Funtastic Learning, I am responsible for maintaining each program run well. Along with
my team, we conduct a regular evaluation. Most importantly, I manage a strong bounding among
team members through capacity building program.

Please summarize yourself in 100 words

I am a teacher at private senior high school and actively involving in volunteerism activities. Since
2008 as a teacher, I involve to design and develop curriculum. Also, I help to conduct and develop
some community educational and entertainment events for school. Besides being a teacher, I have
become a part of AFS Intercultural Program Indonesia since 2010 as local volunteer in Aceh in which I
firstly came to know and learn volunteering. This program also provides me chances to get involve in
any volunteering activities relating to education which enrich my exprerinces for both as a teacher
and a volunteer.

What are your expectations and motivation from joining the ChangemakerXchange global
community? (max 120 words)

During the program I expect to learn talk with community leaders towards any social issue
approaches that are employed to address social issues in other areas. As a director in Funtastic
Learning (FL), it is very important for me to understand deeply and develop practical solutions for
shared problems and concerns. I believe involving and discussing directly with other inspiring leaders
across the world helps me design potential program with better approach in the future. As a new
community, my team and I necessarily learn on how to suistain the program and raise the fund in
order to support it. So joining ChangemakerXchange global community will open an opportunity to
learn all of it as well as be inspired from many diverse background people. From here I believe I can
build networking to earn great support.

What are the 3 super-powers that YOU bring to the ChangemakerXchange community? Eg. non-
violent communication, fundraising, system thinking 

working as a teacher more than 8 years enquips me the skill to manage the task well. I am used to
dealing with tight schedule which require me to determine the priority. I am passionate with public
speaking. Since senior high school, I have been actively involving in debate circuit as debater, coach
and adjudicator. Since I became a part of Bina Antarbudaya-Afs Indonesia, I am familiar with
volunteering project desingning.

ChangemakerXchange is about authenticity and vulnerability, tell us some things you find difficult
about the entrepreneurial / intrapreneurial path you have chosen (max 120 words)

To suistain our program requires great support both mentally and financially. We indentify our
people are less aware towards social, education and youth empowerment issue. We are struggling to
build link with local government or private company to get support. We believe by collaborating with
many parties helps the program grow and reach more people as well. Apart from that, each program
is well developed with financial support. We see our fundrising skill need improvement.
