About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

A dying, uninformed, and uneducated teenage society, resulting in criminal cased, improper school dropouts, broken hearts, dejection,
teenagers with broken dreams and heart not knowing the next step to take in life.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

We bring hope to the teenagers and help them reach their potentials by using a carefully structured and scrutinized course outline to educate
them properly, also mentoring them helping them take big steps geared towards actualizing their dreams.

Impact: How does it Work

After speaking with some teenagers on the importance of dreaming big and the effect of taking responsibility of their lives, raising their hopes and
opening their eyes to the better side of life. These teenagers have since and up-to-date effectively put judicious use of their time and working
towards achieving their dreams.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

Up to date, we have been able to reach a few teenagers in the communities, educating and enlightening them towards looking at the big picture of
life, and this has resulted into good manners, diligence and excellence at school, and a responsible/environmental friendly teenager.

 Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

This would influence a positive living in the lives of teenagerss who have already resulted into cultism, prostitution, alcohol, and drug addiction due
to loss of hope in life and inability to realizing their dreams. The activities of Heart Menders is capable of bringing a long-lasting impact which are
effective even after we are out of the teenagers picture (probably teenager relocates).

Sustainability

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

Heart Menders look forward to getting support and grants from organizations and individuals committed to the support of programs like ours. Also,
on the long run, income will be generated from educational competitions, seminars and trainings, travels etc.

Team

Founding Story

Experiencing a personal struggle for a sense of belonging shortly after secondary school (college) in 2009, this almost led to a negative result of
gangstarism and alcohol. The burden of carrying a dream, never knowing how to achieve it was a close call to suicide but for the timely
intervention of various religious programs and positive community programs, I was able to fall back to my dreams and stay focused to the bigger
picture of life. Thus leading to Co-founding this project to help teenagers out there (in and out of secondary school/college) achieve their potentials
thereby Mending the broken hearted and Restoring hope to the hopeless.

Team

Our formidable team consists of the President/Founder Ekeke Chisom, a graduate of Economics, possessing and Administrative qualities and
strong leadership points. With proven leadership functions, serving as the choral director in the Redeemed Christian Fellowship. He is also a good
facilitator in training our teenagers on the use of musical instruments. Another, asset in our team is Isaac Sunday, a graduate of Economics from
Abia State University; He is also the Director of Heart Menders and is currently a plus advantage in the team, having served as the President of
the Redeemeed Christian Fellowship on campus. Lastly but not the least is Okeiyi James, a motivation driven and passionate African leader, also
a graduate of Chemistry at the Abia State University and once served as the Media Director at the Redeemed Christian Fellowship on campus. He
is an ardent learner and proactively involved in ICT. As the Vice-president/Co-founder, he also involved in educating teenagers on effective use of
computers and computer programs. We look forward to strengthening our team with the best individuals available.
