    SEVEN SEGMENT LED DISPLAY USING 8051 MICRO CONTROLLER

    AIM: To develop suitable programs for displaying fixed message and rolling message using 8051 micro-controller and verify the operation.

    THEORY: The seven segments LED display all decimal digits and some letters. This display contains seven LEDs for segments and another LED to represent decimal point as shown in figure. Each LED can be controlled separately. The desired segments are made ON to display a digit or letter as shown in figure. There are two types, namely common anode type and common cathode type. In this experiment, common cathode type display is used.
