WHAT IS A TANGRAM?
Tangram is a puzzle similar with jigsaw puzzles A Polygon, usually a square or a rectange is dissected into several pieces according certain rules. The challenge is: you mix up the pieces and arrange them into original polygon. You also can arrange them into different polygons as well as many interesting shapes There are various of types of tangram Now, we only consider the classic tangram. It consists of 7 pieces.

CLASSICAL TANGRAM
The smallest unit (1& 2) is an isosceles triangle There are 3 pieces (3,4 & 5) made up from two units of isosceles triangle There are 2 pieces (6&7) made up from 4 units of isosceles triangle

CONVEX AND CONCAVE POLYGONS

Convex: Def 1 : a polygon that satisfy following condition: For any two points inside the polygon, the line segment connecting those two points lies inside the polygons Def 2: A polygon with all interior angles less that 180

Concave: Def 1: a polygon that satisfy following condition There are at least 2 points inside the polygon, and part of a line segment that connecting those two points lies outside the polygon Def 2 : a polygon with one or more interior angles greater 4 than 180. suryainstitute
