Bollywood Bollywood is the name given to the film industry of Hindi language, the biggest film industry in India

in terms of profits and popularity nationally and internationally. The name comes from the fusion of Bollywood Bombay (the former name of Mumbai, the city where the industry is concentrated), and Hollywood (the name given to the American film industry). However this name is sometimes used to denote the entire Indian cinema that it is a misuse. Bollywood movies, like most Indian films are mostly musicals. It is always expected that contain some catchy tunes in the form of song and dance numbers. The success of a film depends on the quality of its musical numbers. Generally the songs are often released before the movie to increase the public's interest in film.]

Cast : Bollywood employs people from all parts of India and attracts thousands of aspiring actors. Models, actors, television, theater actors and even common people come to Mumbai with the hope of becoming stars. However only few are successful.

The popularity in the entertainment industry is very fragile and Bollywood is no exception. The popularity of the stars can rise or fall quickly. Directors compete to hire the most popular stars of the day, they believe to be a guarantee of success for the film (though not always happen). Sound : Sound in Bollywood films is rarely recorded in places. So the sound is usually created (or recreated) entirely in the studio, with the actors reciting their lines while their images appear on-screen studio, and the subsequent introduction of sound

effects in a process known as ADR. This process creates several problems, since the sound of these films usually occurs a frame or two before the lip movements or gestures. Furthermore actors have to act twice, once in place and another in the studio, and so the level reached at the place becomes very difficult to be recreated. The commercial Indian films are also known for their lack of ambient sound.

Music and dance in Bollywood : Songs from Bollywood movies are usually recorded by a professional singer, and then the actors do a lip sync with the lyrics, often while dancing. While most actors, especially today, are excellent dancers too, only a few are also singers. Finances : Bollywood movies are productions of several million dollars, with the most expensive costing up to about 10 million.

However at hand are more ambitious projects that aim to exceed this value greatly. Scenarios, clothing, special effects and cinematography were below the world average until the mid-1990s, with some notable exceptions. When Western films and television began to have a greater distribution in India, came into existence to pressure for Bollywood films reach the same production levels, particularly in areas such as special effects. Bollywood is well known in Africa. The Indian population in countries like South Africa, Nigeria and Morocco allows some success at the box office for Bollywood productions. Over the years, Bollywood has shown a growing popularity, and has gained the attention of the public and Western producers.
